YAAAY! Champagne Glass Tub-bubbles anyone?
I’m SO excited right now, I just found a champagne glass tub to use in my burlesque shows! And with that new addition comes my decision to go to cirus shcool and learn some new tricks! Though my shows are already high caliber and high energy, I believe that as an entertainer there’s always room to grow and evolve and once you hit a certain level with your shows, why not reach for more! Challenge yourself to reach your highest potential, with anything you do, really. Whoot whoot! I look forward to clowning around over the next little while on silks and contortion classes 😀
Catfight-And the claws came out tonight!
Here we are on Friday eve and I swear it’s a full moon out; craziness is everywhere! It’s been another busy week full of amazing, rowdy audiences…maybe a lil too rowdy! lol A girl jumped on stage with another dancer, and instead of just being playful as most girls are when they wanna jump on stage and tip the dancer, she started parading around attempting to upstage the dancer and take over her show. OK ladies….this is not something you EVER do. Be an attention whore somewhere else, some other time. I was sitting with another dancer and as we were watching, we both were commenting on how that wasn’t right and the girl needed to get off the stage before it got ugly, but ugly came.
The dancer who was on stage at the time, Gia, had asked the girl nicely to leave the stage a few times, then the girl lightly pushed Gia’s arm and that was it…GAME ON! All of a sudden there were heads being smashed on the stage floor, punches in every direction, rolling around wrestling….but there was no tapping out here! lol Finally the bouncer grabbed the half naked, dishevelled girl, put her over his shoulder and took her out of the club. Of course the audience was on their feet and cheering for Gia for standing her ground.
Seriously, you really don’t wanna piss off a dancer. Dancers usually come from some sort of background that has thickened their skin, we work every single week with other girls who are catty and can be bitches so are used to standing our ground not not taking crap and many dancers do have pent up anger and frustrations that they are just waiting to unleash. Don’t go there, it won’t be pretty. We work in a very cut throat industry at times and many girls are always ready for battle. Keep it fun, keep it playful and most importantly, KEEP IT RESPECTFUL. This isn’t always an easy job for some girls and as women we should be supporting eachother, not out to get eachother. Really, Fingerpainting is SO much more fun!
PEACE xx
Halfway In Thunderbay!
Back here in T-Bay and it was so funny, while on the bus coming up here from Winnipeg a group of air cadets who were also on the bus recognized me; it made for an interesting trip to say the least! lol I actually used to be an air cadet, even flew a glider! Of course I get the usual 20 questions with the #1 question being, “Why do you dance? You seem like you can do anything?” My speech as a response back, “Because I love it! And you’re right, I can do anything and have. This is what I really enjoy doing for now. I’m a sensual and erotic woman and enjoy being sexy and exhuberate that through the art of striptease. I’m a passionate performer and embrace my femininity to the fullest. For way too long women have put they’re own sensuality and sexiness on the back-burner, working in a very masculine society and I’m here as a reflection to that feminine power that has been forgotten, both by men and women. I love traveling around the world, meeting so many different people with extraordinary stories and experiencing culture. I love what I do! ” One guy yells out, “Right on! I’ve NEVER heard a dancer say that before. That’s so honest and admirable.” Whooohoo! lol
Then as I’m heading down to the rental car place I have Erin, the gal who totally takes care of my rentals when I come to town, mentions how I’m popular with the ladies. Word travels fast in these smaller towns. Yep! The hotties in T-Bay are my faves! Such a fun, playful audience and the ladies here do own their own sexiness! Love it! I even went into Subway and had my salad made by a lil hottie who comes in for my shows 🙂 I actually used to be a sandwich artist myself! In my pre-dancing days.
Well, here we are halfway through the week and it’s been off the hook and busy every night. T-Bay never disappoints! Breaking out the finger paints for the weekend……
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles!
Been a little delayed on the blogs, sorry for that peeps, but for the three months I was in Oz my material was more for a book oppose to a blog. Have to say that I had a good time there but it felt like my adventure was more for play/personal growth rather than work. I made some pretty amazing friendships and deepened a few that I had previously connected with. I was elated to get a standing ovation from the audience my last show. The dj told me that a feature performer hadn’t received a standing Ovation at the Crazy Horse in years-so that meant a lot to me. And was happy to see the turn out of the many fans I’ve made along the way. You all made my performances SO much more fun for me during the rough Aussie winter! Thank U!
After a much needed month off work I’m back n at it here in Central Canada. Did 18 shows within 2 days in Winnipeg (my agent told me he’s going to bronze my shoes and label them, ‘Janine’s Jammin Shoes.’ Ha ha ) and now here I am back in Brandon. From two flights, to drivers for all my shows in Winnipeg to the bus out here to Brandon I feel like a traveling gypsy! It was funny, the screening officer at the bus station was reading my shirt which says, “EVERYDAY is a holiday!” and then says, “Must be nice to be you-everyday is a holiday!” We both laugh then I respond, “Yep, it is. But really, it could be for anybody, even you, cuz it is all just a state of mind.” More to come in the blogging dept and will even share a few stories that are blasts from my past! Whoot whoot!
Landed In Oz
Well, landed in Oz and been here in Adelaide for a full week. And boy oh boy what a week it’s been! From my apartment completely flooding, to drama with one of the girls having a tantrum and quitting, to 4 different birthday girls and fun celebrations, a great live show at the Garage (a local gay club) hosted by one of the beautiful birthday girls herself, Vonni, to the stunning dancer and friend, Ricki, who jumped outta a box topless with pink cupcakes and icing, to some girl doing something SO disgusting that I can’t even write about it, (trust me..I’ll just say, ‘Aunt Flow’) to getting about 3 hours of sleep per night due to adjusting to the timezone change (definitely wasn’t feeling good-faking it till I made it! Can’t even remember the last time I had to do that 😉 almost got t-boned by another car (I wasn’t driving!) and hanging with Katy Perry’s band (one of the most down to earth band’s I’ve met in a while) has left this to be a pretty eventful welcome back week here in Adelaide!
It’s not perfection that makes life memorable, it’s the follies. And honestly, when I walked into my flat after being out for the afternoon and saw the owner of the Crazy Horse, Leona, mopping the floor because it flooded, well…what can I say lol What an amazing lady and she just took it all in stride.
My week’s highlight: As I’m gracing the stage for one of my shows, connecting with my audience, I lock eyes with a guy sitting in front row with his female friend. I smile at him and she encourages him to tip me. He looks a little unsure so I bend down and say, “C’mon, when was the last time you had a naked woman’s boobies in your face….Never??!!” As we both burst out laughing he responds, “Pretty much!” Yep, what can I say, I have an AMAZING Gay-dar detector! lol I have to say that I completely love it when I have gay men sitting in front row for my shows cuz they REALLY APPRECIATE a good show! And are usually so fun and enthusiastic! Thanks Nathan for making my week 🙂 Oh yeah, and there was another guy who was getting very obnoxious so I pulled him on stage and whipped the shit out of him! That made my week, too! 😀
Sun of a Beach-Back in Brandon!
13-03-11
Just wanna recap on the rest of the week in Brandon. It’s funny, looks like with my blogging I’m picking up right where I left off before getting my own site up n running. Here I am doing my Central Canada tour once again, though I’ve been to Australia and Eastern Canada in between. Well, I’ll share stories from those trips as I’m now more consistent with blogging. But for now all I have to say is, “Sun of a Beach!” Bahaha This is an annual volleyball tournament that happened the same wk I was in Brandon. My hotel room happened to be on the same floor as all the teams competing and it truely was like partaking in Spring Break a few weeks early! People gone wild!!
The hallway party with bongs and beer kegs, so hilarious. And then there was everyone knowing where the ‘dancers’ where staying, so endless knocks on the door with peeps wanting to hang out became the norm. Izabella and I became the ‘token dancer’ friends to some of the teams. But it was excellent cuz they all came down for our shows and proved to be an over the top, enthusiastic audience! There was a blizzard in Brandon but yet, the bar was a full house!!
One thing I wanna share with you all is Izabella’s quick evolution in the dancing world. *I’m SO proud of how far she’s come in such a short time) I met her in Australia where she was a newbie working as a floor girl doing private dances-never gracing a stage as a showgirl. She came and met me in Ontario where she continued to work as a floor girl and then came the BIG step up to stage this week in Brandon. She was SO nervous, she didn’t know if she could do it. But having a background in hip hop I just told her to use some of those sassy dance moves n make sure to make eye contact and SMILE on stage…that’s it. It really is that easy.
An audience wants to be entertained and appreciates it SO much when a girl is enjoying what she is doing. Who wants to watch a girl with a cranky look on her face make the art of striptease look like a chore-like she hates her job or even better, just watches herself in the mirrors?? LMAO I told her that by incorporating some her ‘real’ dancing into her shows that the audience would eat it up AND they did!! Her first week as a stage girl and she not only cleared more than $700.00 for the week in tips, and that’s without posters or promo to give away-that was just her being her entertaining and happy self but received great reviews from everyone. YEP, I’m a proud mama bear 🙂
LOVE it when girls absorb what I tell them and then utilize those tools reaping the huge rewards. A true validation that IT WORKS!! And really, it is so easy, so so easy if you let it be. It was also my best week in Brandon and enjoy seeing all those familiar faces..a few shout outs to Jennifer, Uwe, Greg, Angela, Danielle…EVERYONE!! P.S. I have never autographed so many beautiful sets of boobies before!! Muuuah sexy ladies!!
11/03/11
So funny, here I am back in Brandon, Manitoba (and having another rockin week!) and am lounging around in between shows with my friend, Izabella, who I had met in Australia and as we’re both naked, laying in bed watching t.v. our food delivery comes! Oh yeah, guess I should put some clothes on! Lol I’m just so comfy hanging out in my birthday suit. As soon as I get into my room I just take it all off. Hmm..wonder what he would’ve done 😛
I am SO happy that my friend from Oz has decided to come out and get a taste for the Canadian audiences and how things work out here. She’s loving it! And of course, Brandon’s proving to be an amazing week. Customers are even paying cash for extra shows! Love that kind of enthusiasm and appreciation. Honestly, my darker characters usually go over the best out here so was a little concerned about performing burlesque but it was so well received. SO many beautiful and generous ladies have been in the audience this week, LOVE IT!! I enjoy tapping into that feminine sensuality and exuberating that energy, inspiring the women in my audiences. I find sometimes that women forget that they are all such sexy beings and I hope that they are reminded of that in my reflection. Ladies can be so hard on themselves, their bodies. feelin shy around their men when disrobing in front of them, and also get preoccupied with kids, work, cleaning, just being busy that they lose/forget that feminine power, that natural sexiness and sensuality that we ALL possess. Confidence is the sexiest thing you can wear, so c’mon ladies-just allow yourselves to be the sexy beings you were created to be and let it shine! 😀
Ode to Drama!
2011
Ode to drama!! LOL Have to admit, it’s been quite a while since I’ve remembered what it was like to be 16, but was brought back to those memories recently. Now honestly, I can be a bit of hermit. What I mean by that is, I don’t hang out in the bar unless signing promo and chatting with customers and don’t ‘party’. I have a life that expands far beyond my dancing (fitness competitor so in the gym everyday, doing an online program, personal trainer/nutrition and my music-singer/songwriter) which keeps me quite busy.
When I’m at work I’m there to do my job. Meeting a few great friends along the way is an added bonus but I definitely don’t make a lifestyle out of my dancing career. I usually steer clear of the many dramas that happen within the industry (however do entertain myself with it all) but for the most part, keep to myself. SO that being said, It was unexpected for me to be sucked into a recent episode of dancer drama. And like sands of the hour glass…these are the plays of my life! Lol
So there was a contest a couple of weeks ago in Winnipeg. When I first heard of it I thought about doing it, I completely enjoy being able to put together a big show with props and pyro and bringing my best to the stage. However, with my busy touring schedule leaving my little time to create a show set up decided against it. It was a good title but I have my sights set on Miss Nude Canada, that’s the one I want. Well, two days before I was set to leave for Winnipeg my agent tells me he needs me to do this contest.
I adore my agent, he’s always been good to me so agreed to do it with his encouragement. “I don’t have anything prepared!” I said. His response, “Aren’t all your shows big shows..” Yes, but not contest caliber shows. The girls competing for this title are hungry for it so they’d be going all out, and they did. I hoped for the best but didn’t have any expectations. Don’t get me wrong, walking off stage with a trophy always feels great and if I’m gonna compete I’ll work with what I ‘ve got and always go for gold (whoever says they just do it for fun is a liar! Lol) but there are girls really striving for this one. And as it turns out, those girls were the ones who took the cake. And HUGE kudos to them! Some of my fave girls working their way up in the industry who really made an enormous effort with stage set up, backdrops and being original. Each one of them compleletly deserved their placings in my opinion. Sure, it would’ve been nice to receive something but not down n out like some ladies.
I don’t value these types of contests the same way as many girls do. I’m already an established and successful feature performer who has made a prominent mark in the industry with my performances and already am high in demand-booked for the rest of the year! After working 12 hr days in the ‘real world’ I wholeheartedly appreciate and am passionate about this job. Being at the top of my game is something I’ve worked hard for and am proud of so will humbely acknowledge that. To newer girls or the ladies who want to feature these titles are a huge stepping stone to getting there, so they understandibly will have a greater attachment to the outcome. There was some deep disappointments with some of the girls and I just told them to let this contest fuel their fire for the next one, not to indulge in the disappointment or look for reasons/judgements why they didn’t do better; the contest was fixed, someone sabotaged their show, etc. The girls who placed earned what they got.
The smartest thing you can do when you see someone who is successful or in a place you want to be is to shut your trap from the criticizing, judgements and ego that thinks you could do things better and LEARN from them. This is coming from my own experience. I used to be one of those girls until one day when I decided to sit down and watch a huge feature at that time’s show and then ask her questions about how she got to where she was. That was my A-HA moment. Watch and learn and BE successful.
Anyways, on to the week of post contest, pre-drama. I was booked in to Solid Gold (the club that hosted the comp and one of my faves to work) and started my week off without a hitch. Tuesday comes and my agent asked me to cover the feature shows at Lipstixx. Now Lipstixx is another one of my fave clubs to work, the audiences are amazing and so are the staff but it doubles my driver bill cost, so when I’m in Winnipeg for only two weeks, it’s usually not on my schedule. Only my three week bookings and longer. So I was surprised with the last minute switch but just went with it knowing it was just one night.
The next day I spoke with another dancer in the bathroom as we were both changing for shows and she told me she had an altercation with the manager the night before and we were being switched for the week. WELL, this didn’t sit well with me. I LOVE Lipstixx, just not the added driver expense and I was looking forward to my week at Solid Gold. I didn’t feel like I should have to pay for whatever issue happened with her and that club.
So when asked about switching with my agent he said nope, you’re staying at Solid Gold. WELL…seriously, I had no idea that this would be the cause of the gossip wheel going in full motion for the next week. That dancer was then sent to other out of town bookings because I was staying at Solid Gold and she was not happy about it. The story then moved into how she was supposed to work at Solid Gold and I didn’t want to be moved out of my booking, so she was left with jumping around to these out of town one nighters.
For the rest of the week I was confronted by dancer after dancer asking me what had happened, why I was there when ‘so and so’ was supposed to be there…my response each time, “I don’t know. I have nothing to say about it. I’m not going to engage in/be a part of any drama. It is what it is.” I didn’t realised I was going to be villianfied for working where I was booked 2 months previously. At one point, after the 4th girl was asking me about it I had told her (all in good humour-ok smart ass good humour) to take her pointer finger, gently place it on her thumb and rub them together. CONGRATULATIONS! You are now playing the world’s smallest violin! Seriously, it’s not my issue. And THAT became my tag line for the week when asked about it, cuz I was repeatedly asked. Guess she was telling everyone and anyone who’d listen. And then of course comes the, “She’s just jealous,” comment. You know, there’s a funny thing about that comment, and it goes for any situation. Of course when you’re a successful, confident person you’ll have some nay sayers along the way (and an immense THANK U to all of u for giving me more determination and fire to strive to succeed) but really, that is such an empty accusation and an extremely high form of self flattery. I’m quite happy being me, thanks!
Some people took a situation that had nothing to do with them and made it ALL about them. Welcome to the dancer world 😛
But regardless of the waves, I ended up having one of my best and most prosperous weeks. If there are gonna be waves might as well learn to surf! And really, at the end of the day it’s not about what ‘they’ do it’s about what ‘you’ do.
Solid Gold in Winnipeg, Manitoba
Just graced the stage for a third time at this wonderful gentlemen`s club. One thing I really like about working here is that you can get as messy as you want for your shows and you all know I loooove to get dirrty! Paint followed by turining the stage into an all out slip n slide watershow-SO much fun! This was a huge week-40 shows and 2 stags! Crazy! I ended up meeting a girl I knew from years ago and she was so surprised to see me. You see, I actually was on a hiatus from the dancing scene for quite a while. I worked in the music industry managing and singing in my own band for a few years and had achieved many great heights such as singing for Jay Leno on the Tonight Show, appearing on many television shows such as E! T.V. and Breafast Television but most importantly, cultivating a fan base across Canada and in parts of the States. After we disbanded, I needed some time to regroup and decide what I wanted to do. While I was deliberating on what to do with my music it was time for me to get a `real job` and due to my passion for fitness and travel those were the positioned I applied for. At that point I had put dancing on the back burner. Actually, I became quite conservative in those years away from the stage. You could say from `Nude to Prude`. lol From hanging upside, swinging on poles naked to an all out soccer mom. lol
I walked into a local gym to drop off an application and happened to be speaking with the manager, who then, just hired me on the spot. In a short time I became their top producer in sales, moved up into management and proceeded to get my personal training certification and was working hands on with clients helping them to achieve their highest potential. Ireally enjoyed my job but really began to feel like I was living in a box. I started to feel like I wanted to work for myself rather than working for someone else. Accompanied with this feeling of wanting to do more, I had just gone through a three period of almost every challenge a person could be faced with from a divorce, losing four family members, (the most significant, my mother) and then went through a heartbreak. Oh yes, my cat did run away, too, so I guess this really can be turned into a country song! lol But on a serious note, I don`t look at these challenges as negative, just huge opportunities for growth. Guess my soul was starving for growth and that it did.
Anyway, as circumstances would have it, I was approached by a few people encouraging me to grace the stage again, that the industry was lacking high quality feature performers (not too many showgirls left)and so decided to do a 4 week booking in Australia and have just keept moving forward in full force ever since. I have to say that I`m thoroughly enjoying every minute of it. And with all of my flexibility, strength holds and gymnastics that I learned in competing in fitness, my shows are above and beyond what I used to do and so I just keep evolving as an entertainer. Now you`ll be able to appreciate the girl`s extreme surprise to see me.
On a wilder note, here`s a juicy story for you all. One evening after work, I get a knock on my door. Now it`s 2:30am and I`m already in bed so I`m thinking, `Who the heck could this be..` Well low and behold it`s one of the sexiest girls I`m working with, wearing a see through white dress and she started groping herself. She then proceeded to do cartwheels naked down the hallway! That`s all I`m sharing! Needless to say, it was an eventful night 😉
Centerfolds in Thunderbay, Ontario
Well, we picked up exactly where we left off the last time I was in Thunderbay….Monday night, jammed packed and for my last show decided to bring out the paint. There was a beautiful birthday girl sitting in the front row with all of her hot friends so I pulled her on her on stage with me. She was extremely shy so I promised her I’d be gentle and that I wouldn’t do anything she didn’t want me to. I will always respect the boundaries of anyone who comes on stage with me, though I will tell you, her friends weren’t shy at all!
I got her to lay down on the stage, put paint in both her and as I straddled her, I let her paint my body. WELL…the bar went CRAZY! All of a sudden there were bodies all over the stage with tipping dollars and requests to get painted. As I was taking tips, the paint on my chest was transferring onto those faces I was taking tips from and by the end of my show everyone had paint on them. It looked like the worrior tribe of Thunderbay!
I had never had so many naked women on stage with me at one time before-it was great! I played with about 12 sets of boobies that night; what can I say, I love my job! Lol My show went over into a double encore and I ended up making over $400.00 in tips. What a great way to start the week off With an audience that’s so interactive like this one I love to bring out the fun stuff so I asked the Owner if I could break out the water guns but unfortunately the stage wouldn’t react well to a water show. It’s all good, paint and liquid latex it is!
Thunderbay Centerfolds
Yep!! lol Back in Thunderbay for round 2 and all I’m gonna say is, “My last show Sat night, standing ovation, everyone singing every word of my songs and at one point had 5 people on stage with me, two of them were women getting naked!” YEP! That’s what I’m talking about! Now that we’re getting to know eachother better the audience in Thunderbay is really getting comfortable. Of course, ‘Fresh meat Monday’ was jam packed with many gorgeous ladies as it was before.
It was funny cuz there was a hottie I was chatting with in the bathroom and on stage at one point I had my boobs in her face. The next day I go to a local gym to get a one week pass and guess who the front desk girl is…drumroll please…it was that girl. I recognized her before she recognized me. As I said before, when I dress down I’m just like the girl next door. I’m thinking to myself, “Didn’t I have my boobs in your face last night?” as I’m chuckling away and shaking my head. “Grrreat!” lol I hope I get a deal!
Winnipeg, Manitoba
The Marion Dayshift, Solid Gold nightshift
Well hello all! Sorry for delay in my blogs but was on vacation (went to Vegas, would share stories but as you know, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas lol) and also had some issues with locating internet cafes in the places I was working so it put me behind a little but I’m back in action!
Have to say that I’m loving working in Central Canada. In Winnipeg they have 40 strip clubs-it’s a thriving industry out here and more are opening. What i enjoy is that the clubs are still based around the stage shows. Although the girls aren’t yet putting on full out showgirl style shows, they are hotties and many know a lot of pole work.
Entertaining to watch and so much potential to bring back the old school style of feature performances which once used to be the norm in the industry but has fizzled over the last 10 years due to clubs not wanting to pay for top quality shows and focusing more on the table dancing. I think clubs have forgotten that men and women still want to be entertained and completely appreciate a good performance.
I had a customer notice that there was a girl who seemed to be imitating a few things I do on stage and asked if it bothered me and if there was a lot of cattiness or animosity within the groups of girls working. I said that I take it as a compliment if someone wants to use any of my ideas or moves-guess I’m doing something right! And that I think the industry needs more girls who are ambitious enough to evolve their shows and put on a high caliber performance. I will give advice and tips to anyone who asks. I would love to see an upswing in the substance a girl delivers to the stage. The better the shows, the more full the bars will be, not to mention it would be great to bring this industry back up in terms of quality. Take away quality stage shows, take away your audience. I’m seeing that happen in other provinces where the dancing industry used to thrive.
Anyways, back to working in Winnipeg. In Winnipeg they have this thing called “jamming” where you bounce around from bar to bar. In a usual week I get between 12-16 shows, in Winnipeg I get between 30-40! Thank goodness for my fitness competing background where I’m used to training up to three hours per day. AND…I love it! I enjoy the hustle and bustle and constantly being on the go. Not to mention that it’s a lot more opportunity to receive tips and meet a lot more people. What I found interesting is that each place has it’s own kind of clientelle, very unique from the next one but yet some of these pubs are just down the street from one another.
They all have their regulars and their own vibe. For example, the Marion, the pub I was at during the day, was an older, blue collar pub and Solid Gold, the place I worked at in the evenings was more of a nightclub feel. It was wonderful working in Winnipeg because my shows were so well received and I generated a mini following almost instantly where customers would follow me from bar to bar as I jammed. It had been a while since they’d seen bigger shows and it was immensely appreciated. Definitely made me enjoy my job even more!
It’s funny, during the week there was a bomb threat, tornado warning and flooding on the roads but yet…not a show cancelled or missed! The shows must go on!
Brandon, Manitoba
Well Brandon, Manitoba definitely gave Thunderbay a run for it’s money! As I said before, these smaller places let it all hang out and are out for a good time! There’s a military base nearby and many of the men are your typical tough n rugged hard workers and countryboys…my FAVORITE!
To start off my week, I decided to take the bus from Thunderbay to Brandon (a 12 hour trip! It looked so much closer on the map LOL And my goal is to become a veternarian cuz I love children! There’s a dose of blonde for ya!) with another dancer I was working with and in a seat nearby I struck up a conversation with a nice guy who was in the service. He had just finished visiting with his wife and was going back to the base. Nope, no other intentions, just making friends along the way as I do in my travels. And when I’m not on stage toting around half naked in big theme show costumes I’m actually quite laid back, girl next door wearing comfys usually pertaining to a baseball hat and gym gear. Definitely wouldn’t peg me for an exotic dancer. SO, I’m sure you know what’s coming…as I’m walking around signing my posters who comes up to me but the guy from the bus trip LOL And as we look at eachother we burst out laughing and have the expressions on our faces like someone just got caught with their hand in the cookie jar! I’m thinking, “Yep, you just saw me get naked!” and he was thinking, “i just saw YOU get naked! And was that a hard core dominatrix suit you were wearing…” For a brief moment I slipped out of my Janine Jericho persona and was that giddy girl next door. He then asked for a poster and I was like “of course, you helped me with my luggage.” And yes, this is something that happens from time to time.
I have to say that Brandon was one of the most easy going places I’ve worked, great down to earth people and the customers were incredibly generous (probably one of the best clubs I’ve worked at for tipping and promo sales-I was selling posters right off the stage during my shows!) and they really got into my performances. It got to a point where customers started tipping me and requesting certain theme shows for specific times. Yep, the guys here weren’t afraid to ask for what they wanted! It’s ALL good to me! I have no problem with requests, that’s a huge compliment. I even had a group of guys request a theme so they could bring their girlfriends in to watch. Those were the metalheads from Alcore! A little shout out to them! They also had special requests for when I was signing their posters, one guy told me to write something very dirty so I wrote ‘mud’ lol I’ve got some naughty sayings but thought that was funny. They really liked to be involved in the whole process, this is a first but I welcomed it….you mean they DO pay attention? Yes, this audience as a collective does. I’ve had requests for certain themes but not on a daily basis as I did here. Another interesting week. Nope no girl on girl action here, there are strict rules in Manitoba and no contact with the audience is allowed, as it is in Ontario-Boo!
Centerfolds Thunderbay, Ontario
What do I say about Thunderbay..in one word-WILD! It’s funny, I tell my agent on the phone that this place is wild and he says, “I think you’re the one who’s wild,” I just laughed and replied, “I think you’re right. I may have just met my match!”
I walk into the club on Monday evening to a full house, 70% women! And these ladies were enthusiastic! I only have one rule with women sitting in the front row, show me the tipping dollars or show me your boobs! lol Yep, the best of both worlds! But honestly, these ladies were completley respectful, enjoyed the shows and their enthusiam just fuelled my fire to dance my lil heart out even more. And in Ontario there’s audience participation so these ladies were jumping on stage to tip me and became a part of the show.
Next time I’m bringing my paints lol Janine was here…and there and there; my painted handprints will be on everyone. And it continued to be a full house all week long but with the ratio of men to women levelling out. All around, they win best audience award cuz their constant enthusiasm, rowdy cheers and eagerness to share my stage with me never wavered. That’s one thing I love about smaller towns, they let it all hang out!
So as you can see, each week and each club is so different. I just walk into a place without any judgements, there to do my job and perform my best whether there’s 6 people in the bar or 100 and embrace each environment for what it is. I value the customers who come in and engage in my performances. Yep, I’m probably one of the most business minded and professional dancers you’ll meet. Some DJs still look at me funny when I’m early for my showtime. LOL I went from hotel to motel, a gentlemen’s club where I was completely taken care of on every level to a smaller pub where I was taking care of myself and both were fantastic experiences.
Treasures Mississauga, Ontario
This was my first time working at Treasures and have to say I was quite impressed with how it truely embodied what a gentlemen’s club should be. The audiences were a little more laid back than what I’m used to but extremely appreciative and had a lot of class.
One of the best staff I’ve worked with and the house girls…hot, hot, hot!! Highlights to my week were having the young, sexy hotties jump on stage to tip me. Well, if you’re gonna jump on my stage then you better be prepared to have a lil fun! It was great, I was the entertainment, then I got to entertain myself! From my accomodations, to having a driver and some meals provided, this is a place where they completely took care of me and that in itself makes me want to go above and beyond the next time I’m there. Above and beyond would be to bring out the ‘specialty’ shows such as fire, paint and liquid latex. Usually that’s something I negotiate depending on a few contributing factors ($$ lol) and clean up arrangements. However, there are times where I’ll bring that fun stuff out just to do it.
I LOVE gettin dirrty!
